Liberia’s Indicted MD Matilda Parker Entered Non Guilty Plea

MONROVIA—Both the indicted former Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA) Matilda Wokie Parker and Comptroller Christina Kpabar Paelay threw out a challenge to state prosecutor on Thursday when they denied all charges against them. Parker dressed in yellow African attire with black spot and a black head-tie while Paelay in white suit worn since the trial begun on November 10, 2015 stood before the court with right hands up while the clerk read the volume of indictment against them.

The Government prosecutors have challenged the validity of the US$1.2 million criminal appearance bond filed on behalf of the suspended Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA) and her Comptroller by Family Dollar Universal Insurance Service (FDUIS).

Rachel Pulfer Takes On President Sirleaf!


Introduction: President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf visited Toronto in September of 2013 to celerate the WE Day annual festivities  that drew celebrities from arround the world. In a rare departure from diplomatic niceties which usually greets the Liberian president [in western media] on her foreign travels given her stature as a world leader and a peace laureate, the Toronto newspapers were  a rare exception, with both the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail in the mix with strong worded commentaries and news articles about press freedom and corruption in the Western African country under Liberia's 24th president. The Liberian leader would respond also...below are both pieces...
